House Prices & House Sales:
There was a strong positive growth in the Oxford housing market in 2006, with the total number of property sales increasing by a massive 22%, bringing supply back to the levels experienced in 2001-2002. Sale prices also increased significantly on the previous year, with the average price breaching the £300,000 mark and the most expensive property for the city reaching £3.25million.
Summary
In 2006, detached homes experienced the biggest price growth in 2006, with a 13.7% increase on 2005. In keeping with previous years, terraced homes made up the highest percentage of sales, although a number of new developments in and around the town centre boosted the number of apartment sales in 2006.
